Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Fleet Shop Supervisor to join our client, a food distributor, in the Newark area. This position will oversee fleet maintenance activities, supervise a team of 8-9 mechanics, and report directly to the Fleet Manager.

- Supervise all fleet maintenance activities at the facility, including parts inventory, work orders, and billing practices.
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and company standards for fleet maintenance.
- Maintain relationships with in-house technicians and third-party vendors to ensure timely repairs and productivity.
- Oversee the tire program and manage tire casing assets.
- Conduct mechanic performance audits and regular performance reviews.
- Assist with preventative maintenance in a hands-on mechanical capacity when needed.
- Education: A minimum of a High School Diploma/GED.
- Experience: 4 years in fleet maintenance and repair (diesel/gas-powered equipment, tractor-trailers); 1 years in a supervisory role.
- Certifications: ASE and Air Brake certifications.
- Licenses: Class A CDL license and valid DOT medical certification.
- Preferred: Experience in the distribution/transportation industry (foodservice distribution is a plus).
