Job Title: Physicist
Location: Thomasville, GA
Type: Contract, 6 months
Start Date: July 7th (or sooner)
Summary: The Medical Physicist will perform duties under the supervision of a Qualified Medical Physicist (QMP) to ensure high-quality service delivery, including customer experience and on-site operations. Adhere to procedural standards and demonstrate family-centered care principles.
Responsibilities:
- Independently perform routine medical physics tasks
- Operate linear accelerators and perform quality assurance (QA) procedures (linac QA, IMRT QA, patient chart QA)
- Support special procedures such as HDR, SRS, and SBRT
- Proficient in linac calibration and commissioning
- Oversee day-to-day clinical operations, design policies, and procedures, and implement new technologies
- Regular interaction with employees, physicians in radiation oncology, and the public, requiring professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and intervention planning.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications:
Education: M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Medical Physics or a related field
Experience: ABR Certified, with a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience post-certification. Designation as an Authorized Medical Physicist by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission or an Agreement State is required.
Certification: ABR certification required; gamma knife experience preferred
