Operations Manager

Location: South Salt Lake City, Utah

Reports to: Plant Manager

Team: 30 employees, 5-6 direct reports

Overview

Lead all aspects of operations, including supply chain management, inventory, manufacturing (fermentation technology and chemical processing), finishing, packaging, and order fulfillment. Approximately 85% of sales are international.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee production, process control, quality improvement, and productivity.
• Manage material availability, cost control, and compliance with HSE regulations.
• Handle employee relations, performance management, and training.
• Control budget and ensure code of conduct compliance.
• Propose and implement production process improvements.
• Foster a culture based on company values and high employee satisfaction.
• Develop organizational capability through engagement processes and training programs.
• Limited travel for supplier validation and partner capability support.
  
  

Qualifications

• 10 years in chemical processing fermentation operations.
• Proven leadership managing a diverse manufacturing team.
• Knowledge of safe work practices and environmental regulations.
• Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Strong emotional intelligence and communication skills.
• Ability to solve complex technical problems and lead change initiatives.
• BS degree in engineering required.
