Accountant

An established nonprofit organization is seeking an Accountant to join its finance team. This newly created position was designed to support organizational growth and improve departmental structure. The role will focus on revenue accounting, daily deposits, and general ledger reconciliations across various revenue streams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare weekly bank deposits and maintain accurate records of all receipts
• Monitor accounts receivable and reconcile general ledger and bank accounts
• Track and record retail shop activity including sales, inventory, and reconciliation with retail systems
• Prepare timely and accurate journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Support the preparation of financial statements and audit schedules
• Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience (nonprofit experience preferred)
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, including debits and credits
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP and PivotTables)
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
