The Assistant Controller is responsible for maintaining precise inventory records, calculating product costs, and analyzing inventory variances. Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records, including performing cycle counts and overseeing physical inventory checks.
- Prepare journal entries for inventory-related transactions, including purchases, sales, and adjustments.
- Reconcile inventory accounts to ensure consistency with the general ledger.
- Calculate both standard and actual product costs and prepare detailed cost reports.
- Analyze cost variances to identify areas for potential cost savings.
- Support the development and implementation of standard costing systems.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to inventory and cost accounting activities.
- Assist in the preparation of company-wide financial statements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 years of relevant accounting experience, with a preference for experience in manufacturing or distribution.
- Familiarity with cost accounting systems and methodologies preferred.
- Experience with inventory management systems a plus.
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as Sage 50 or NetSuite.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP.
- Advanced skills in Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills.

Salary : $130,000 - $150,000
