STAFF ACCOUNTANT - Bilingual
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Staff Accountant will handle monthly preparation and analysis of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other financial tasks.
- Record and post entries for cash, AP, AR, and payroll.
- Process weekly ACH/check runs.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations for bank and investment accounts.
- Resolve reconciliation discrepancies promptly.
- Prepare accruals and additional financial transactions as assigned.
- Participate in special projects and analysis as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- A minimum of two years of experience in accounting or fund accounting is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of the operations of nonprofit organizations and government-funded programs is essential.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and meet team deadlines.
- Must be cross-trained and capable of managing multiple tasks, prioritizing assignments, and adhering to established plans and deadlines.
- Strong skills in analysis, written and verbal communication are required.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, with a willingness to learn MIP Fund Accounting software.
- Must uphold strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is highly desirable.
- A proactive self-starter with a willingness to learn and work independently.
- Flexibility regarding work schedules, hours, travel (minimal), and assignments, along with consistent reliability, is essential.
- Experience in grant accounting is a plus.
Salary : $55,000 - $60,000
