Role Summary:
The Distribution Center Supervisor reports directly to the Distribution Center Manager and is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, including supervising drivers and deliveries, scheduling maintenance, and maintaining warehouse cleanliness. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct the performance and outcomes of owner-associates, communicating performance expectations and holding the team accountable to those expectations.
- Drive organizational effectiveness and Service Excellence through developing processes, leading teams, enabling a highly motivated work environment, and creating innovative approaches for improvement.
- Interviews, hires, schedules, assigns work to, and evaluates the work performance of staff.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels daily.
- Coordinate with Territory Owner-Associates on daily routing requirements.
- Manage queues inside the Kendall business system.
- Control the flow of material in and out of the warehouse.
- Maintain Direct Through Stock processes and customers' requirements.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness to ensure product flow and accessibility.
- Research shipping/receiving discrepancies.
- Train 'other' owner associates on proper procedures.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience working in warehouse operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Prior experience working with Microsoft Office, proficiency with MS Excel, and ability to use standard office equipment.
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and shift priorities as needed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
Work Environment:
The physical demands of this role include the ability to lift, move, and carry up to 50lbs, sit, stand, walk, lift, pull, and push during the entire work shift. The noise level in the work environment is consistent with that of a distribution center.
