Job Overview
The Camps and Family Programs Coordinator position is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day implementation and enhancement of onsite camps and birthday party programs in alignment with Kentucky Science Center’s strategic plan. This role will work closely with the Manager of Camps and Family Programs to help facilitate our camp expansion plan through consistent and effective parent/guardian communication, development of a cross departmental supply management plan, coordination of volunteer efforts for camps and family programs, and maintaining quality training for all staff.

Day to Day Logistics of Camps and Family Programs- 60%

Responsibilities:
- Serves as top camp leadership and is the Camp lead on our Pay by Day Camps. This includes responsibility for all camp related activity.
- Collaborate with the Manager of Camps and Family Programs to coordinate all aspects of camps and family-based programs including curriculum development, supply organization, staff training, & parent/caregiver communication.
- Collaborate with other internal departments to coordinate infrastructure of camp and family programming such as classroom/lab space reservations, registration and general booking policies, marketing and promotion
- Maintaining timely and appropriate communication with parents/guardians before, during, and after camps and family-based programming.
- Effectively utilize resources to assess and enhance themes and activities to deliver high quality and innovative camps and family program experiences in alignment with our strategic plan.
- Works with Education Scheduling and Training Coordinator and team members to schedule staff for camps and family programming during the school year.
- Collaborate with leadership to provide high-quality training for seasonal camp staff throughout the full camp season and for family programs’ staff and volunteers.
- Collaborate with associates across the Visitor Experience Department to develop, maintain, and train on a plan for effective and efficient supply coordination.
- Maintaining data tracking for supply expenditures, program attendance, and program revenue for camps and family programs and reports data monthly to the Manager of Camps and Family Programs.
- Cultivates and maintains relationships with community organizations, parent groups, school administration and other organizations/agencies related to camps and family programming
- Practice and enforce safety and emergency policies and procedures. In addition to maintaining a clean and safe environment for program participants and instructional staff in all Science Center classrooms, labs, and storage areas in cooperation with other team members
- Serve as a key member of cross functional Visitor Experience leadership team
- Perform other duties as assigned
Compensation and Benefits
- Starting salary of $40,000 annually
