SENIOR ART DIRECTOR

* Must have strong CONCEPT and BROADCAST experience.
We’re The King Agency - a full-service Ad Agency based in Richmond, Virginia, and we are looking for an award-winning Senior Art Director to join our team.
We’re seeking a concept driven and motivated creative with 6 years of solid advertising agency experience. Wow us with your strong creative concepts in print, broadcast and digital as well as having the technical knowledge to execute your ideas in a cohesive and strategic way.
Responsibilities
- Develop innovative, high-quality visual concepts that meet client objectives and exceed creative expectations.
- Collaborate with Copywriters, Creative Directors, and other team members to concept and design advertising campaigns across multiple channels (print, digital, broadcast, social media).
- Design and art direct visual elements, including typography, photography, and illustration, to ensure cohesive branding and messaging.
- Work closely with production teams, photographers, and talent to ensure successful execution of creative concepts.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve craft skills.
Qualifications
- 6 years of experience in advertising or a related creative field
- Portfolio that showcases expertise in art direction, design, and concept development
- Strong understanding of branding, marketing principles, and consumer behavior
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
- Experience producing broadcast spots and motion graphics
- Strong design and visual storytelling skills
- Must be a team player
Nice to Have
- Experience in automotive marketing or car enthusiast a plus
- Knowledge of front-end development principles and web design
- Experience working with global brands or in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
