General Description:
Kintock is seeking a dedicated and competent full-time Operations Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a well-trained team of Operations Monitors who ensure the safety, security, and proper control of residents, along with maintaining the sanitation of the facility, in accordance with Company and contract requirements. This position requires leadership, management, and organizational skills to oversee daily operations and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision & Leadership: Supervise, train, develop, and monitor the performance of Operations Monitors.
- Work Schedule & Shift Management: Assist in developing and implementing work schedules to ensure adequate coverage for each shift, in line with contractual requirements.
- Compliance & Accountability: Ensure that resident supervisors complete all necessary duties, such as conducting resident formal counts, in accordance with contract and company requirements.
- Training & Development: Train new employees, resolve complaints, address disciplinary issues, and provide continuous training to maintain up-to-date knowledge of company policies and procedures.
- Investigations & Reporting: Conduct investigations regarding resident misconduct and prepare detailed reports on findings. Ensure accurate and timely processing of shift reports, including disciplinary and administrative documentation.
- Facility Inspections & Standards: Regularly inspect housing units and common areas to ensure compliance with security, health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Crisis Management: Take proactive steps to prevent or defuse potentially disruptive situations, ensuring the safety and security of both staff and residents.
- Staffing & Post Assignments: Ensure adequate staffing for all posts and step in as needed during staffing shortages.
- Certifications & Compliance: Ensure all monitors maintain active CPR and First Aid certifications and adhere to all company and agency policies.
- Training & Development: Participate in ongoing training and development to maintain and improve supervisory skills.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: One (1) year as an Operations Monitor (security) or two (2) years of related experience in a similar field. Leadership experience is highly preferred.
- Certifications: Valid CPR and First Aid certifications, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record are required.
- Knowledge:
- Modern correctional principles and practices related to resident accountability.
- Company and contracting agency policies, procedures, and Statement of Work.
- Duties and responsibilities of effective supervisors and Operations Monitors.
- Abilities:
- Ability to work a rotating schedule and handle emergency situations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills (both oral and written).
- Ability to investigate, report, and resolve issues effectively.
- Excellent organizational and conflict management skills.
- Ability to train, evaluate, and document personnel actions.
- Capacity to maintain effective working relationships with staff and supervisors.
Education Requirements:
- Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Associate’s degree with advanced supervisory/management training.
