Position: Director of Intervention Services
Status: Temporary (3-4 months), Exempt, Full-Time
Reports to: Deputy Director

The Korean American Family Service Center (KAFSC) is a leading non-profit organization serving the New York tri-state area. We are dedicated to empowering women, children, and families—especially immigrant survivors of gender-based violence—through culturally responsive counseling, education, advocacy, and support services. KAFSC seeks a full-time Direct of Intervention Services (temporary) that supports KAFSC’s gender-based violence and anti-violence intervention services, including domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse-related services. Director of Intervention Services will lead a team of four to five Case Managers and Counselors.

Please note that this is a temporary position with a duration of 3 to 4 months. We are seeking a candidate who is available to start immediately.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Management of KAFSC’s Intervention Services:
- Oversee the overall victim service program including case management, counseling, legal service, etc.
- Oversee the housing program including long term and short term housing programs
- Oversee the Economic Empowerment Program
- Develop and implement program policy and procedure for Intervention Services and Programs at KAFSC
- Provide supervision and guidance to all programs staff - Victim, Housing, Economic Empowerment, etc.
- Provide ongoing training and support to the 24-hr hotline volunteer dispatchers at the volunteer training
- Work with the program team to create a training materials and curriculum
- Ensure that all families and individuals have a safety plan and a full family assessment
- Provide crisis intervention and therapeutic counseling for individuals and families affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse
- Identify the strengths and needs of clients and establish individualized plans for each client
- Provide comprehensive quality advocacy and case management services
- Make appropriate referrals (police, court, shelter, hospital, PA office, etc.) and provide relevant support services
- Maintain a working knowledge of other gender-based violence service partners
- Foster and maintain constructive working relationships with law enforcement, legal service agencies, courts, Family Justice Centers, Human Trafficking Intervention courts, Administration of Child Services, and other community organizations
Program Management & Staff Supervision
- Work with Deputy Director in compliance with federal, state, and city contracts and other funding source requirements; participate in site visits and audit process as scheduled.
- Supervise four to five Case Managers and Counselors, providing guidance, regular supervision, and managing case conferences.
- Support the hiring process, including interviews, and coordinate staff performance evaluations.
- Recruit, screen, assign Case managers to staff, and delegate appropriate tasks as needed.
- Administrative Supervision to Case Managers: oversee the quality of case records, including hotline records, intake forms, progress notes, evaluations, case terminations, and other documents related to program activities
Community Outreach, Advocacy & Education
- Collaborate with coworkers to create opportunities to reach the targeted population through a wide range of community outreach activities.
- Support Deputy Director in providing counseling training to volunteers at our 24-hr Domestic Violence Training
- Write articles for publication in newspapers/magazines or/and participate in radio/TV shows to promote KAFSC and its work.
- Organize and participate in agency-wide outreach activities
Administration
- Support Deputy Director in ensuring that all client records and documentation are complete, accurate, and up-to-date
- Support Deputy Director in preparing documents, reports, and statistics for all appropriate program-related activities
- Actively participate in agency-wide fundraising activities, including the Annual Benefit Gala

Qualifications
- A Master's degree in Social Work is required.
- LCSW preferred.
- At least 3-5 years of management or supervisory experience
- In-depth knowledge of the dynamics of family violence or sexual assault or/and experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma
- Fluency in English and Korean preferred
- Program development experience is a plus
- Strong commitment to the Asian American Community and KAFSC’s mission
- Sound judgment and a strong sense of social justice and activism

Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range: $90,000 ~ $110,000
