Job Summary
The Kroenke Group is a Columbia, Missouri, based leading national, privately held real estate developer, investor and property manager. We develop and manage large retail power centers across the country. As a result of our tremendous growth, we are seeking an Accountant/Bookkeeper.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide financial information and prepare reports by researching, identifying, analyzing, interpreting, recording, and researching the financial condition and performance of a portfolio of commercial properties.
Job Duties:
- Prepare and record standard journal entries
- Summarize current financial status by collecting information; performing bank reconciliations, preparing balance sheet, income statement and other reports.
- Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents and reports.
- Distribute cash to property owners by preparing monthly cash flow worksheets in Excel, verifying cash collected, paid out and reconciling to bank balance.
- Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
- Work closely with Property Management, Lease Administration, and Collections departments.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing accounting information.
- Prepare payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
- Prepare rent payments by verifying coding, depositing checks, and/or recording ACH transactions. Apply payments to the applicable charges.
- Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Protect operations by keeping financial and proprietary information confidential.
- Contribute to team effort by assisting and mentoring other accountants as needed.
- Monitor compliance with accounting principles and company procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field preferred. Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or an equivalent field will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent computer skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
