Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team at a 107-room hotel featuring two on-site restaurants. This role is responsible for maintaining the property’s overall functionality, ensuring guest comfort, and upholding safety standards. The Maintenance Technician will perform general maintenance tasks, address guest and operational needs, and handle after-hours emergency callouts on a rotating basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Hotel Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical fixtures, appliances, and furniture.
- Conduct inspections to identify and address maintenance needs proactively.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and resolve maintenance issues efficiently to ensure guest satisfaction.
Restaurant Maintenance:
- With training ensure all restaurant equipment, refrigeration units, and kitchen systems are in proper working order.
- Conduct maintenance on dining areas, including lighting, furniture, and HVAC systems.
Property Upkeep:
- Inspect and maintain common areas such as hallways, lobbies, exterior walkways, and parking lots.
- Perform basic seasonal landscaping, snow removal, or other seasonal tasks as needed.
- Monitor and maintain fitness equipment.
Emergency Response:
- Be available for on-call evenings and after-hours emergency maintenance requests.
- Respond to urgent situations promptly and effectively, including power outages, leaks, or equipment failures.
Operational Support:
- Collaborate with the housekeeping and front desk teams to address room readiness and guest concerns.
- Maintain a detailed log of maintenance activities, including completed tasks, parts used, and time spent.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience in maintenance roles.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in general repair and maintenance tasks, including plumbing, painting, patching, etc.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently with minimal disruption.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor when interacting with guests and team members.
- Strong time-management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
Schedule and Compensation:
- Full-time position, Friday through Tuesday.
- On-call availability for emergencies on a rotating basis.
- $20.00-$22.00 an hour based on experience.
