This role spearheads initiatives for production, warehouse, processing and packaging, emphasizing safety, quality, customer service, and cost goals. The Continuous Improvement Engineer collaborates closely across teams, factories, engineering and corporate groups to align project objectives with business needs. Integral to a customer-centric manufacturing function committed to continuous improvement, this position requires proficiency in financial analyses for proposal validation and stakeholder support.
Continuous Improvement Engineer Responsibilities :
Lead and oversee Continuous Improvement productivity initiatives, ensuring timely project delivery
Regularly update stakeholders on project status, adherence to timelines, completed work, quick wins, potential issues and associated mitigation plans
Apply continuous improvement tools and methodologies such as RCA, DMAIC, Loss Tree Analysis, IPA, etc., to drive lasting operational enhancements
Gather and analyze supplied data and operational conditions; introduce modifications and track results in collaboration with key stakeholders
Identify methods to reduce material usage, losses; rework and enhance process efficiencies.
Implement follow-up programs to sustain achieved savings, provide additional training, identify further opportunities and ensure project continuity
Contribute to the annual budget process, evaluating run rate efficiencies, nominal speeds and scrap values by component
Collaborate on trials with supervisors and managers before implementing any new systems or methods, assisting in the adaptation of changes for optimal results
Collaborate with product development, marketing, supply chain, finance and operations teams to introduce new products and achieve project objectives
Monitor compliance with factory standards encompassing safety, operations and quality
Promote workforce development through training initiatives to improve hourly proficiency
Foster ongoing enhancements in processing, packaging and warehouse domains
Timely escalation of issues and fulfillment of assigned duties
Continuous Improvement Engineer Requirements :
Strong project management skills with excellent planning and organizational abilities
Proficient in high-speed packaging, process equipment application / design and continuous improvement techniques like TPM, Lean and Six Sigma
Adaptable to a fast-paced, high-stress manufacturing environment
Exceptional people skills, including coaching, motivation and performance management at both hourly and staff levels
Demonstrates team-building proficiency within and across departments
Robust analytical skills, adept at root-cause analysis, and decisive decision-making capabilities
Proficient communication and presentation abilities, both in writing and verbally
Innovative, driven, and proactive
Computer literate, skilled in Microsoft Office and advanced Microsoft Excel
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering, or Business
2 years of experience in food manufacturing preferred
Six Sigma or Lean background with applied examples is a plus
Knowledge of SAP is preferred
