We are seeking skilled and experienced front of house employees to join our growing team! Established in 1890, we are proud to be the country's fifth oldest Country Club. This is a very special year for Geneva Country Club, as our restaurant is now open for public dining for the first year ever! And we are so excited to share our breathtaking views of Seneca Lake with all our new guests!
The ideal candidate would be willing and able to both bartend, as well as assist with serving. This position will be responsible for preparing and serving beverages, keeping clean and organized service areas, maintaining knowledge of all menus, and above all else, ensuring excellent customer service. If you have a passion for mixology and creating memorable experiences for guests, we want to hear from you!
Our location also hosts a variety of banquets and events, from weddings and rehersals, graduation parties, holiday events, and much more! This means more hours will be intermittently available in addition to regular restaurant shifts. Service charges are included in all venue events, and are therefore split between the staff working these days. Also, bartenders are able to make additional tips at such events.
This is a **tipped** position. Wages are $14.00/hr plus tips.
**Responsibilities:
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Take drink orders and serve beverages promptly
- Prepare cocktails, mocktails, and other drinks according to recipes
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area and equipment
- Check identification to verify legal drinking age
- Handle cash transactions and operate the cash register
- Provide recommendations on drink & menu selections
- Upsell additional products when appropriate
- Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely service
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations
**Experience:**
- Previous experience in bartending, serving or customer service preferred
- Knowledge of basic math for measuring ingredients and handling cash transactions
- Familiarity with catering or events is a plus
- Proficiency in cash handling procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environments
- Experience in the food industry is beneficial
- Familiarity with TOAST computer system is a plus
- Knowledge of brewing techniques/local wine is advantageous
- Proficient in retail math calculations
