Job purpose
1. Provide guidance and leadership to staff concerning training requirements.
2. Coordinate, manage and oversee the Learning Management System (LMS).
3. Provide crisis intervention and direct services to hotline callers as needed.
4. Assist with community education and outreach as needed.
5. Review, evaluate, and make training recommendations as part of continuous quality improvement.
Duties and responsibilities
Coordination and Administration:
1. Provide training, guidance, and leadership to program staff.
2. Establish internal protocols for Learning Management System (LMS)
3. Complete monthly client file reviews
4. Oversee staff recruitment and retention.
5. Work with Executive Director to develop annual staff training goals.
6. Assist Executive Director with the development and maintenance of Learning Management System (LMS).
7. Managing the staffing process, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding
8. Ensure job descriptions are up to date and compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations.
9. Development of training materials and performance management programs to ensure.
employees understanding of job responsibilities.
10. Ensure the agency’s compliance with local, state, and federal employment regulations.
11. Oversee Infectious Disease Plan
12. Maintain accurate and complete training records.
Direct Client Services:
1. As needed, provide direct services to hotline clients which may include-information and referral, crisis intervention, and emotional support/advocacy services
2. Provide crisis intervention and/or technical assistance.
3. Work closely with all service systems and act as an advocate for the client as needed.
4. Work closely with other Laurel Center Program Coordinators and administration to assure a consistent flow of communication and delivery of services.
5. Assist with hotline duties and on-call duties as scheduled or needed.
6. Maintain accurate and complete records and statistics on all clients and services provided.
Community Education & Outreach:
1. Foster community relations and promote the visibility of the program through participation with other community-based service organizations and projects.
2. Develop materials to provide public awareness.
3. Speak before groups to promote interest and support for the program.
4. Work closely with other agencies to maintain a flow of communication and client services.
Other Duties:
1. Maintain accurate and complete records and statistics on all clients and services provided, including VADATA entry.
2. Maintain confidentiality of all information pertaining to The Laurel Center clients served.
3. Compile monthly, quarterly and semi-annual reports as assigned.
4. Attend staff meetings and consultation meetings.
5. Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
Works Closely With: Executive Director, Program Coordinators, and all staff.
Qualifications:
Completion of master’s degree program in a social services field preferred or bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in staff training, recruitment and retention in a Human services position or an acceptable combination of experience and education. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work as part of a team. Knowledge of domestic and sexual violence and its impact on the survivor and family preferred. Knowledge of community service agencies and willingness to become part of service planning and delivery. Ability to supervise and train staff. Demonstrated ability to work independently.
