What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Malpractice Paralegal position at The Law Office of David Ellin, P.C.?
The Law Office of David Ellin, P.C., located in Reisterstown, Maryland is a personal injury law practice representing clients throughout Maryland.
At this time, we seek to hire a full-time experienced Medical Malpractice litigation paralegal. The candidate must have experience in handling medical negligence cases.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Communicating effectively and professionally with clients and parties involved in a lawsuit over telephone and in person;
- Conduct legal research using platforms such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw to support case preparation.
- Assisting lawyers in preparing trials;
- Gathering discovery; review and draft discovery requests/responses;
- Requesting any reports, records or documents needed for cases;
- Drafting various documents such as motions and pleadings;
- Reporting to the office manager as needed, as well as attend weekly or quarterly staff meetings;
- Paralegal will be under frequent supervision from lawyers and office manager.
Requirements: Punctuality, professionalism, commitment, excellent communication and writing skills are of paramount importance;
- A minimum of three - year of experience recommended;
- Highly organized and detail-oriented;
- A minimum high-school degree or equivalent paralegal experience required;
- Other minimum qualifications include: knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic technological and research skills necessary to pull requested documents from online resources required;
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure, and present a positive, professional image with colleagues, professional staff, and vendors;
