Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Case Management:
- Lead Client Interviews: Conduct comprehensive interviews to gather crucial case details and establish strong client relationships.
- Strategic Document Preparation: Draft and review legal pleadings, memoranda, and other documents with precision, ensuring they align with each case’s strategy.
- Ongoing Client Communication: Maintain proactive and transparent communication throughout the client’s journey, keeping them informed about case progress and next steps.
- Discovery & Analysis: Manage, analyze, and summarize discovery materials to provide actionable insights for the legal team.
Legal Research & Document Drafting
- Advanced Legal Research: Perform in-depth research on family law issues and distill findings into clear, actionable reports.
- Comprehensive Drafting: Prepare key legal documents—including subpoenas, interrogatories, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits—under attorney guidance.
- Case Strategy Support: Collaborate closely with attorneys to align legal documents with evolving case strategies and client goals.
Operational Excellence & Innovation
- Process Improvement: Work with the team to refine internal workflows, policies, and case management systems for greater efficiency.
- Performance Tracking: Create detailed billable time entries and help meet key performance indicators by documenting forward progress in each case.
- File Organization: Ensure that all case files and legal documents are meticulously organized, up-to-date, and readily accessible.
Brand Advocacy & External Engagement
- Marketing & Outreach: Act as a positive ambassador for the firm through active participation in social media, podcasts, videos, and live streams.
- Client Appreciation Initiatives: Propose and implement thoughtful gestures to recognize referrals and contributions from clients and partners.
- Cultural Contribution: Engage in team training and collaborative events that foster a vibrant, innovative, and supportive work environment.
Qualifications Requested for Application:
- Proven Expertise: Minimum of 3 years experience in a fast-paced family law setting, supporting attorneys in complex cases, in King County, WA.
- Certified Professional: Completion of an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program; advanced paralegal education (e.g., Bachelor’s degree) is preferred.
- Analytical & Communicative: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a keen attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
- Time Management: Demonstrated capacity to juggle multiple high-priority tasks while maintaining efficiency and accuracy.
