Job Overview

About the Firm:
The Law Office of Zhang is a San Francisco-based immigration law firm now offering a full spectrum of immigration legal services, including family-based immigration, removal (deportation) defense, asylum, naturalization, employment-based immigration, etc.

We are seeking a Bilingual Immigration Paralegal (English/Spanish) to join us as a full-time, 1099 contractor. This is a hybrid role, requiring some in-office presence in San Francisco, with remote flexibility.

Duties

• Assist attorneys in preparing and filing immigration petitions and applications.
• Conduct legal research related to immigration law and policies.
• Draft legal documents, including petitions, briefs, and correspondence.
• Review and proofread documents for accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
• Maintain organized case files and ensure all documentation is up-to-date.
• Communicate with clients regarding case status and gather necessary information.
• Provide administrative support, including managing calendars and scheduling appointments.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and case management.
• Translate documents and interpret during client meetings when needed

Requirements

• Fluent in English and Spanish (required)
• At least 1 year of immigration law experience, preferably in family-based or removal defense
• Strong writing, organization, and attention to detail
• Familiar with USCIS/EOIR forms and procedures
• Proficient in digital tools (Docketwise, Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft Office, etc.)
