Overview :
The Lawrenceville School seeks enthusiastic, energetic, collegial individuals who want to work with both adults and students in a collaborative and inclusive academic setting.
Position Summary : The groundskeeper is responsible for all grounds maintenance of the campus including sport fields, trash and snow removal, set up for special events and package deliveries.
This position is considered Essential Personnel and will be required to work during emergencies, including when the school is closed.
Responsibilities :
- Use a variety of tools and machinery, including mowers, trimmers, clippers and Weedwackers
- Report equipment repairs needed (on lawn mowers, spreaders, snow removal equipment, etc.) to mechanics
- Plant and maintains grass and flowers
- Set up for special events
- Deliver packages as requested
- Cut lawns, trims and edges around walks, flower beds, and walls.Water lawns and shrubs
- Prune shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs. Spray lawn, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer, herbicides, and insecticides. Rake and bag or burn leaves
- Perform office and small housing moves
- Occasionally must work in inclement weather and at off-hours
- Shovel snow from walks and driveways
- Spread salt on public passageways to prevent ice buildup
- Clean out drainage ditches and culverts
- May be assigned to trash removal
- Participate in all training meetings
- Performs other duties as requested
Qualifications :
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid Drivers license
Groundskeeper experience preferred
