The Learning Garden is a new, rapidly growing childcare center in Slingerlands, NY. We are seeking reliable, self-motivated individuals to help us meet our mission of providing quality childcare in a safe and fun environment!
We are seeking a floating teacher to assist in classrooms throughout the center. This job is for a fixed weekly schedule. You must be willing to work with all age groups from infants through pre-k.
Responsibilities:
- Cover breaks for teachers
- Collaborate with lead teachers and other teaching assistants to ensure smooth daily operations of the classroom
- Monitor and supervise children during activities, ensuring their safety at all times
- Play with and read to children
- Help serve meals and supervise children eating
- Clean as needed
- Assist with daily routines such as mealtime, nap time, diaper changes, and toileting
REQUIREMENTS:
- Reliable transportation
- Be able to sit on the floor to play with children
- Minimum 16 years of age
-High School Diploma or one year childcare experience
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are essential
- You MUST be able to put your cell phone away while working to stay in compliance with regulations
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a daycare or preschool setting is preferred
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and strategies is a plus
