Floater Teacher

A Floater is responsible for offering flexible support across various age groups and classrooms within the childcare center. This role requires adaptability, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of childcare practices. The Floater ensures a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, supporting regular staff members as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Classroom Support: Assist in multiple classrooms, covering for regular staff during breaks, absences, or high-demand periods.
• Child Supervision: Supervise children to ensure their safety and well-being, engaging them in appropriate activities.
• Activity Implementation: Implement and facilitate educational and recreational activities as directed by lead teachers.
• Routine Maintenance: Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and hygienic environment within the center.
• Child Interaction: Build positive, nurturing relationships with children, providing emotional support and encouragement.
• Parental Communication: Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers, providing updates on their child's activities and progress when necessary.
• Compliance: Adhere to all licensing regulations and center policies, ensuring a safe and compliant environment.
• Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Coursework in early childhood education preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience in a childcare setting is desirable.
• Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification required (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).
• Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to adapt to various classroom environments, and capability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift children, stand for extended periods, and engage in physical activities with children.

Pay: Up to $13.30 per hour
