Job Overview:
The Leavitt Center is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Tumbling Instructor to join our team! We’re looking for someone passionate about teaching tumbling and gymnastics to students ages 2 and up. As a Tumbling Instructor, you will play a key role in helping students develop essential tumbling skills, improve their physical confidence, and express themselves through movement. Whether working with beginners or more advanced students, you’ll guide them to achieve their personal best while fostering a safe, fun, and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instruction & Lesson Planning: Create engaging and effective lesson plans for each semester. Tailor classes to meet the diverse needs of students while focusing on proper technique, body control, and skill development.
- Tumbling Techniques: Teach foundational and advanced tumbling skills, including floor exercises, balance beam, and bars.
- Safety & Environment: Ensure that all students are taught in a safe and clean environment, always adhering to safety protocols. Maintain organized, well-kept equipment and space.
- Performance & Growth: Help students build confidence by preparing them for performances or showcases where they can demonstrate their progress.
- Student Development: Provide individualized attention to students, identifying their strengths and areas for improvement while encouraging a positive and growth-oriented attitude toward their learning.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in gymnastics or tumbling.
- Strong understanding of tumbling techniques, including proper form, body control, and breathing techniques.
- Experience teaching students of all ages, from young children to teens and adults.
- Ability to maintain a fun, positive, and disciplined learning environment.
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
