Job Overview:
The Leavitt Center is looking for an experienced and passionate Voice Instructor to join our team! We are seeking a skilled vocal coach who is excited to teach students of all ages (8 ) and skill levels, from beginners to more advanced vocalists. The ideal candidate will help students develop their vocal technique, improve pitch, range, and tone, and build their confidence as performers. Whether through solo singing, group vocals, or musical theater, you will inspire students to find their voice and express themselves through song.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lesson Planning & Instruction: Design and deliver engaging lesson plans that focus on vocal technique, breath control, pitch accuracy, and vocal health. Tailor lessons to students’ abilities, ages, and goals.
- Voice Development: Teach proper vocal techniques, including breath support, posture, pitch, tone, diction, and vocal range. Help students enhance their overall vocal performance.
- Performance Preparation: Prepare students for performances, recitals, and showcases. Help them develop stage presence and confidence while performing in front of an audience.
- Student Growth & Feedback: Provide constructive feedback to help students reach their vocal potential. Encourage self-expression, emotional connection with the music, and confidence in their abilities.
- Safety & Environment: Create a safe, positive, and supportive environment for all students, promoting vocal health and wellness during training. Ensure that the studio is clean and organized.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a vocalist or vocal coach.
- Expertise in vocal technique, including breath control, pitch accuracy, and vocal range.
- Experience working with a wide range of students, from beginners to advanced vocalists.
- Ability to teach a variety of genres, including classical, pop, musical theater, and more.
Skills & Attributes:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students.
- A deep understanding of vocal anatomy and vocal health, with an emphasis on proper technique.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit the individual needs and abilities of each student.
- Passion for music and helping students discover and develop their voice.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in preparing students for performances.
