What are the responsibilities and job description for the Opioid Treatment Practitioner position at The Life Change Center?
The Life Change Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that has been providing recovery services for heroin and prescription medication abuse concerns since 1999.
We offer a variety of services to help people to make the changes necessary to beat their drug addiction. The emphasis of our recovery program is based on two primary themes; empowerment and improving quality of life. We have a talented group of staff members with expertise in recovery from opioid addictions in Carson City, Sparks, and Reno, NV!
We are currently looking in the Reno/Sparks area for a qualified and passionate candidate who can work 2.5 hours every Tuesday and Thursday morning between 6am and 10am.
Qualifications:
· Current registration as a physician, physician’s assistant, psychiatrist, psychiatric nurse or advanced practice registered nurse in the State of Nevada.
· Thorough knowledge of and experience with addiction and mental health treatment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Conducting medical assessment including history and physicals at intake and annually.
· Prescribing methadone, buprenorphine, naltrexone or vivitrol for opiate dependence as determined appropriate.
· Monitoring medication levels, dose changes and effectiveness of treatment in coordination with counseling and support staff.
· Documenting, signing or countersigning all medical orders issued under the physician’s authority, including orders which allow a patient to take methadone outside the clinic setting (take homes) or guest dosing at other clinics.
· Timely documentation of all aspects of patient addiction management including but not limited to mental status, progress notes, special procedure notes, medication education, informed consent, and discharge summary.
· Ensuring that the program provides each patient with adequate services addressing communicable diseases, including HIV, Tuberculosis and Hepatitis, either directly or by referral.
· Authorizing insurance billing and providing NPI for patients in MAT and providing supplemental documentation that may be required regarding patient condition services.
· Coordinating care, treatment, monitoring, referral, and documentation of clinic patients.
· Willingness to assume the duties and responsibilities as required by SAHMSA and other regulators.
· Provide the clinic with contact information for emergency or after-hours consultation.
· Attend general staffing meetings as scheduled.
