The following position will be based in Denver, Colorado as a Receptionist at The Lighting Agency, one of the leading Manufacturers Sales Representative Agencies in the Industry.
General Job Description
- Provide support for all departments of The Lighting Agency. Professional appearance and attire is required due to client contact. This is an hourly position with work hours: Monday thru Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. & Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- This position is supervised by the Director of Culture & Events, Dawn Webber.
Primary Responsibilities
- Answer phones, screen/direct calls. Make sure to cover phones with back-up when away from desk.
- If there is ever a problem or you don’t know what to do, call Luisa or Dawn and explain the issues and ask who you should send the call to, or they may just take the call themselves.
- Greet visitors, offer coffee or water.
- Keep the refrigerator clean and stocked with beverages.
- Manage the beverage and snack order monthly, and let Dawn know if beverages are running low before it’s time for the main monthly order.
- Plan on a bi-monthly fridge cleaning where you throw out anything old and clean the interior.
- Assist with setting up the conference room for lunch and learns that are on the calendar.
- This includes moving the furniture into a classroom configuration and re-setting it once finished for the MMM.
- Manage the getinfo email inbox along with your own. Be sure to reply to all general inquiries within 24 hours and ask for assistance if you don’t know how to respond.
- At the end of each day, load and start dishwasher, clean kitchen sink and wipe off counters.
- In the morning when you arrive, you’ll need to unload the dishwasher and put the dishes away, and bring the red set upstairs.
- The entire lobby is your area to maintain to ensure things are tidy and looking top notch for clients and staff.
- The sink should always remain empty. Occasionally people will put dishes in the sink instead of the dishwasher and it’s appropriate for you to remind them to please put items in the dishwasher. If the dishwasher is running or full, they should hand wash their items, dry them and put them away. If you see dishes and don’t know who they belong to, if you can just put them in the dishwasher, that would be helpful.
- Act as 2nd in line for submittals, so Lisa will send you her overflow, and you’ll act as her primary back-up when she is on PTO.
- Register and track out of state jobs.
- Pick up newspaper from front door every morning and bring to table in the café.
- Check general voicemail box every morning and after lunch.
- Prepare re-order list for office supplies and email to Dawn.
- Coordinate scheduled time off with Dawn, Evan, Luisa and Lisa so that someone can be scheduled to fill in.
Occasional Responsibilities
- Update employee lists when new people come on board or when people leave.
- Set-up and decorate the Holiday Tree before Thanksgiving and pack away after the New Year.
- Assist with special events like Opening Day and Light Club

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
