Job Summary: The Human Resources (HR) Manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resource function. The HR Manager develops and administers various HR plans and procedures for all employees. It is the expectation that this individual will work with colleagues, parents, and scholars to create a school environment that is focused on scholar achievement, character and success beyond high school. The Lincoln Academy is a school where scholars and families are supported, while maintaining high expectations for all. The HR Manager is expected to fully embrace the school’s methodology and uphold the high expectations of The Lincoln Academy. The HR Manager will support an equitable environment with rigorous instruction, joyous interactions, and strong community partnerships. Though it is impossible to list all roles the HR Manager will fill, specific job responsibilities include:
Essential Functions:
- Create job descriptions as necessary and post job openings
- Review all resumes, schedule interviews, create and maintain applicant files with licensure information, and track all applicant data points
- Complete background checks and call references for new hires
- Create Letter of Hires and Employment and maintain new hire reporting data
- Onboard new hires
- Perform exit interviews for resigning employees
- Work with the CEO to recommend, develop, and implement personnel protocols and policies
- Assist the CEO in developing a salary budget, analyze compensation, and monitor the performance evaluation program for possible revisions
- Perform benefits administration to include claims resolution and change reporting
- File EEO-1 annually; maintain other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations
- Maintain and update compensation plans, organizational charts, staff rosters/directories
- Create school calendars annually
- Attend job fairs and perform follow-up with interested applicants
- Keep up-to-date on employment law and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws
- Create programs to boost employee satisfaction, motivation, and engagement
- Assist with career development opportunities
- Analyze turnover rates and provide CEO with insights on workforce trends
- Support/lead disciplinary meetings
- Review employee complaints and investigations, including conflict resolution
- Support documentation for open records requests
- Other duties as requested
