Role Overview :

As a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) at The Lodge Health & Rehabilitation Center, you will play a key role in the rehabilitation process, helping residents recover their speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive functions . Working in our in-house therapy team , you’ll provide individualized treatment plans, helping residents regain the ability to communicate effectively and safely eat and drink. This is a rewarding position for those passionate about working with the older adult population in a skilled nursing setting.

Key Responsibilities :

Develop and Implement Treatment Plans : Create individualized speech and language therapy plans for residents, focusing on speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.

Provide Rehabilitation Services : Assist residents in improving communication skills through therapies such as speech exercises, language development, and cognitive strategies.

Swallowing Therapy : Work closely with residents who have swallowing dysfunctions, coordinating with the dietary department to ensure safe and nutritious meals.

Patient and Family Education : Educate patients and their families about communication techniques, coping strategies, and methods to avoid personal misunderstandings.

Documentation and Tracking : Accurately document residents' progress and adjust therapy plans accordingly to meet their individual goals and needs.

Collaboration : Work with other healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, nurses, and physicians, to ensure an integrated approach to patient care.

Qualifications :

Current Speech Language Pathologist License in the state of Florida

Current CPR Certification

Preferred Experience : At least one (1) year of experience in Skilled Nursing or Rehabilitation, but we also welcome CFY (Clinical Fellowship Year) applicants!

Exceptional Patient Service Skills with a focus on clinical excellence

Passion for Post-Acute Rehabilitation and working with the older adult population

Strong Communication Skills : Ability to interact effectively and appropriately with residents, families, staff, and other healthcare professionals
