SUMMARY:
The General Clerk III Textbook Lead works in support of the Textbook Warehouse and is the functional lead for the Textbook Warehouse operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete assignments consisting of numerous steps varying in nature and sequence.
- Selects from alternative methods and refers problems not solvable by adapting or interpreting substantive guides, manuals, or procedures.
- Ensures that procedures for receipt, storage and issue of warehouse materials are compliant with prescribed procedures and customer requirements.
- Acquires minimum effective competency on the Defense Language Institute COMP textbook inventory management information system.
- Managing inventory and accountability systems in a textbook warehouse.
- Coordinate and collaborate with Government educational materials specialists to ensure mission achievement and customer support.
- Coordinates requisition of stocks.
- Coordinates with printers and publishers per Government guidance.
- Ensures all safety regulations and procedures are observed in the warehouse.
- Provide warehouse personnel for cross-utilization of support for non-Textbook Warehouse emergent logistics support requirements without impact on the Textbook Warehouse primary mission when directed by higher authority.
- Ensure Textbook Warehouse personnel receive training as required to perform warehouse duties effectively and safely.

- This position supports the DOD on a federal installation and the candidate must be available to work at the assigned physical location during business hours.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees the work of the Shipping Clerks, General Clerks, Warehouse Specialists and Supply Technicians; assists them in the function of their duties and ensures LRC mission completion.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Essential:
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Minimum three (3) years of related job experience
- Must be familiar with a computer environment and be able to work on a desktop or laptop computer
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with STAMIS automated supply systems is required
- Knowledge of Warehouse functions: receiving, accounting for and properly tracking.
- Knowledge to plan and accomplish a variety of complex work assignments and/or identify problems and be able to analyze and resolve
- Organization skills to prioritize and perform multiple tasks.
- Intuitive, interpretive, and analytical comprehension to rapidly identify and resolve problems.
