SUMMARY:
The PPO General Clerk III is responsible for providing value to our customer by ensuring the integrity of all customer orders in the most efficient manner. This is accomplished by ensuring that the department is properly prepared to support and meet the business priorities established by our customer. Clerical work is controlled (e.g. through spot checks, complete review or subsequent processing) for both quality and quantity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide counseling on entitlements and responsibilities for each move, utilizing the Defense Personal Property Program (DP#) System Record
- provide specialized, expedited assistance to customers who receive short notice, emergency movement directives or who because of distance cannot return for additional processing
- provide dedicated, special service to shipments of personal property for deceased service members or their dependents (BLUEBARK).
- provide counseling/briefings to customers (group or one on one) on personal property entitlements and responsibilities, prepare documentation to initiate and schedule personal property shipments, and answer customer questions and inquiries in accordance with Joint Travel Regulation (JTR), DTR 4500.9-R Part IV, Personal Property Consignment Instruction Guide (PPCIG) and Service Supplements.
- provide system assistance to customers using DPS self-counseling module (including assisting with obtaining login and passwords), coordinating shipments with Transportation Service Providers and provide guidance regarding claims settlements processing
- perform all services required to support and assist members in making a personally procured move (PPM) in accordance with JTR and individual service regulations When requested by customers, the contractor shall assist and forward documentation to the JPPSO to process cancellations, changes, or diversions of shipments that require rescheduling with Transportation Service Provider (TSP) in accordance with DTR 4500.9-R Part IV.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Essential:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Specialized knowledge of various travel entitlements, policies and procedures pertaining to personnel moves (PCS and movement of household goods).
- Knowledge to plan and accomplish a variety of complex work assignments and/or identify problems and be able to analyze and resolve
- Knowledge of military rank structure and military unit relationships
- Organization skills to prioritize and perform multiple tasks with little or no supervision.
- Intuitive, interpretive, and analytical comprehension to rapidly identify and resolve problems. Follow all Safety Regulation

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time, talk on the telephone, work on a computer for extended periods of time, and lift and carry up to 20 pounds on a regular basis. Must possess visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; and the manual dexterity to operate a cell phone, handheld radio, telephone, and keyboard.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/HOURS:
This position is not eligible for remote work, as the essential functions of the role require the employee to perform duties on-site. Job is performed indoors. Job is performed with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Job will require working flexible hours, sometimes under short notice, to accommodate for mission requirements to include weekends and holidays. Overtime may be required.
