Position Overview
The Loan Coordinator plays a key role in managing the loan process from underwriting to closing and funding. This position ensures all disclosures, title processes, and funding activities are completed accurately and efficiently while maintaining compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Underwriting & Loan Processing
- Generate underwriting packages for approval, ensuring all necessary documentation is included.
- Order and review appraisals, title reports, and other required documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness before submitting to management for loan eligibility assessment.
- Create and send required disclosures to borrowers in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with title companies to open title for pass-through closings.
- Ensure earnest money deposits (EMD) are sent to the title company.
- Communicate with title companies to facilitate smooth closings and address any title-related issues.
- Ensure funding is scheduled and completed accurately and on time.
- Oversee closing coordination with title companies, borrowers, and internal teams to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Ensure all necessary post-closing documents are received and recorded properly.
- Set up and coordinate mortgage servicing to ensure timely loan onboarding and accurate reporting.
- Maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements throughout the loan lifecycle.
- Create and route the bid tape for each closed loan, ensuring accurate loan details are prepared for secondary market sales or investor review.
- Experience in mortgage lending, title processing, or loan underwriting is required.
- Strong understanding of owner financing, real estate transactions, and underwriting principles.
- Familiarity with loan disclosures, title processes, funding procedures, and mortgage servicing.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple transactions at once.
- Detail-oriented with a strong ability to review financial and legal documents for accuracy.
- Proficiency in loan origination systems, underwriting software, and document management tools is a plus.
