Certified Early Childhood Teacher

The Magical Years Early Learning Center Inc. is hiring EEC certified Infant, Toddler, Preschool and Pre-K Teachers to become part of our school family. The ideal candidate should be organized, detail-oriented and patient. They should also be able to establish a warm and nurturing relationship with children and families alike.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing age-appropriate lesson plans, activities, and materials by using The Frog Street Curriculum as well as their own knowledge in Early Childhood Education. They should also be comfortable with classroom management techniques and practice a variety of teaching styles to accommodate different learning needs. The successful candidate should also have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as basic technology skills. They must be able to multitask, prioritize tasks efficiently and demonstrate effective problem solving skills.

Essential Duties and Functions:

• Create a safe and welcoming environment for children.
• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
• Work with co-teacher / teacher assistant with children’s daily needs such as feeding, changing and providing support as needed.
• Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times with other educators.
• Plan age-appropriate lesson plans for classroom in the areas of art, sensory, science, math, and literacy using the Frog Street and Lively Letter curriculum.
• Create an environment that fosters learning through developmentally appropriate activities and guided play.
• Determine what materials are needed for classroom success.
• Use age-appropriate guidance and discipline techniques.
• Effectively communicate with families through daily interactions, conferences and our parent communication app Procare.
• Observe each child to help them improve their social and academic competencies and build self-esteem.
• Administer assessments using AIM Assessment.
• Collaborate and work effectively with The Magical Yeas School Family.

Requirements:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree Preferred not required
• EEC Teacher Certification or qualifying courses completed
• 3 years’ experience working with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years of age
• Must pass background checks
• FA and CPR Certified preferred. Training opportunities available
• Strong written oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others
• Ability to solve problems
• Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast pace environment
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must maintain a professional appearance and attitude
• Must be willing to be flexible and adaptable

Physical Requirements:

The demands of this job require candidate to sit, stand, walk, bend, jump, reach and lift

equipment and children up to 50 pounds. This position often requires the candidate to be

outdoors, to drive, to crawl, stoop balance, walk up and down stairs and run.
