The Maids International is a leading franchisor in the residential cleaning industry, dedicated to expanding our brand throughout the US and Canada by growing our franchise network with strategic partnerships and franchise operations. We are seeking an experienced Paralegal with franchising experience to join our team and support our franchise operations and development with contract management, compliance and documentation.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Franchise Paralegal with experience in franchise law, regulatory compliance, and contract administration.
The Franchise Paralegal is responsible for providing administrative legal support, ensuring compliance with federal and state franchise laws, and managing legal documentation related to franchising. This role requires experience in franchise law, regulatory compliance, and contract administration. The Franchise Paralegal will work closely with the General Counsel and internal departments to ensure efficient and legally sound franchise operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain organized legal records and databases related to franchise agreements, state registrations, and compliance documentation.
- Assist with franchise disputes, terminations, and compliance issues.
- Provide support in franchise-related litigation, audits, and regulatory inquiries.
- Preparation of franchise agreements, addendums and other legal documents as necessary.
- Assist in updating Franchise Disclosure Documents (FDDs) and franchise agreements in compliance with federal and state laws.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, including operations, finance, and marketing, to ensure franchise compliance and smooth business operations.
- Manage the Franchise Advisory Council, organizing meetings, recording minutes, and ensuring compliance with governance requirements.
- Other administrative tasks to support the overall franchise operations.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree with Paralegal Certification required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a paralegal, with at least 2 years in franchise law.
- Strong understanding of the FTC Franchise Rule and state franchise laws.
- Experience preparing and filing franchise registrations and renewals.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and deadlines.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and contract management software.
