Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Lab Technician to support daily laboratory operations. This role requires excellent communication skills for effective interaction with staff and customers, as well as the ability to operate, understand, and maintain laboratory equipment. The ideal candidate will be proficient in accurate data recording, inventory tracking, and following standard operating procedures. Strong time management, the ability to move comfortably throughout the lab, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment are essential.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Accurately record and document test results, observations, and procedures in compliance with lab standards.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, supervisors, regarding lab processes, results, and issues.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure all work complies with relevant regulations and safety protocols.
- Track and manage laboratory inventory, including ordering and restocking supplies as needed. * Perform routine cleaning, calibration, and safety checks on lab equipment and workspaces.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Handle raw materials with care, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and disposal procedures are followed.
- Assist with data analysis and reporting as needed by supervisors or project leads.
- Maintain flexibility to move throughout the lab and complete tasks efficiently without constant supervision.
- Manage time effectively to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Identify and report any potential safety hazards or equipment malfunctions promptly.

Environmental Conditions:
- Work is primarily performed in a laboratory setting with exposure to chemicals, scientific equipment, machinery, lab utensils, and glass.
- Regular exposure to moderate noise levels from laboratory equipment and machinery.
- May require wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as lab coats, gloves, safety goggles, and masks depending on the task.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and movement throughout the lab environment.

Minimum Qualification Standards:
- Education:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in a science-related field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry,Laboratory Science, or a related discipline).
- Relevant certifications or technical training preferred but not required. * Experience:
- 1–2 years of experience in a laboratory or technical setting preferred.
- Experience working with lab equipment, data entry, and following standard operatingprocedures. * Technical Skills:
- Basic understanding of laboratory instruments and equipment maintenance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and laboratory data entry systems.
- Ability to accurately record, interpret, and report data. * Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and communicate effectively with customers. * Organizational Skills:
- Excellent time management and multitasking ability.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. * Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the lab for extended periods.
