DUTIES
- Provide crucial assistance to the cook in meal preparation and service.
- Ensure timely adherence to scheduled meal and snack times.
- Follow Federal/State long-term care regulations and adhere to Dietary Department policies and procedures.
- Assist in receiving, organizing, and storing food and supplies.
- Execute cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as assigned.
- Contribute to the arrangement of tray cards, loading food carts, and serving meals.
- Set up the dining room and serve residents with care and courtesy.
- Manage dishwashing responsibilities and ensure proper storage of dishes.
- Engage in floor cleaning activities such as sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting, etc. (Note: Appropriate caution/safety signs must be set up before performing these duties.)
- Effectively remove dirt, dust, grease, film, etc., from surfaces using approved cleaning/disinfecting solutions.
- Clean walls and ceilings through washing, wiping, dusting, and spot cleaning/disinfecting.
- Dispose of waste trash into designated containers and reline trash receptacles with plastic liners.
- Maintain cleanliness in work/assignment areas and ensure proper storage of equipment, tools, supplies, etc., at all times, including before breaks, meal times, and the end of the workday.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school graduate with preferred previous institutional dietary service experience.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow recipe directions, diet orders, tray cards, and work assignments.
- Numerical ability for recipe preparation, proper measuring of cleaning agents and chemicals, and good motor coordination and manual dexterity for various work routines.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including during emergency situations, and demonstrate patience and tolerance toward staff, residents, and family members.
Applicant must be able to pass a criminal background check and meet all health and state requirements, including Drug & TB testing.
