What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Controller position at The Marcus Corporation?

What will you be doing?
- Checks and reconciles General Ledger accounts and bank statements
- Maintains mainframe computer and network including troubleshooting and installation of new programs and / or updates.
- Schedules and follows through on monthly House Bank audits.
- Assists in preparing forecasts and budgets.
- Prepares monthly financial statements, journal entries, accruals, and all accounting books.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities asked by Controller based upon department needs.
- Supervises staff in compiling month- end closing reports. Oversees preparation of monthly forecast and variance reports and visually reviews for accuracy.
- Calculates and produces daily deposit transmittals for checks received.
- Assumes duties of Controller in his / her absence.
