Store Manager Job Description

· The Market at Marina Square, located in downtown Bremerton next to the Bremerton Marina. We are looking for a welcoming, self-driven person who loves working with customers in a solo, independent setting. Our best candidate can work by themselves, is reliable, responsible, and has strong communication skills. Weekend and evening availability is a must. Because we sell alcohol products, all candidates must be at least 21 years of age at hire to be considered.

Essential Job Duties For Store Manager:

· Manage vendor relations, placing orders with reps, receiving products and putting into inventory

· Inventory control of stock, backstock, overflow, and quality control

· Merchandising the floor by season, product, and needs to increase store atmosphere and profitability

· COG management by price checking suppliers, vendors, sales margins to make best recommendations

· Oversight of employees with training, staff empowerment, and fostering a team oriented culture

· Customer relations through relationship building and loyalty program

Essential Job Duties For All Employees:

· Greet customers and assist with purchases.

· Handle all transactions (cash, credit/debit, refunds, exchanges)

· Address customer inquiries and resolve minor complaints.

· Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system efficiently.

· Maintain an accurate cash drawer and balance at shift end.

· Handle large bills and verify counterfeit currency.

· Follow security protocols for cash drops and safe storage.

· Restock shelves, refrigerators, and display racks as needed.

· Monitor and rotate perishable items (snacks, drinks, dairy, etc.).

· Keep track of low-stock items and notify management if ordering is needed.

· Maintain a clean and orderly backstock storage area.

· Receive and process small deliveries if applicable.

· Regularly clean countertops, floors, and checkout areas.

· Sanitize coffee machines, food service areas, and high-touch surfaces.

· Take out trash and cardboard.

· Ensure coolers and freezers are functioning properly.

· Monitor customers and deter theft (without confrontation).

· Handle shoplifting incidents per store policy (e.g., report to management or authorities).

· Follow security procedures for opening and closing the store.

· Check ID for restricted sales (alcohol)

· Adhere to workplace safety regulations.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to stand and walk up to 100% of the time, with sitting available during rest periods and breaks.

· Ability to lift to 25 lbs. frequently

· Ability to lift to 50 lbs. occasionally

· Ability to push/pull a broom or mop.

· Requires frequent reaching, bending, stooping, and squatting to restock shelves.

· Requires prolonged periods of standing at a cash register.

· Job requires more than 85% standing and walking.

Schedule

The Market at Marina Square is open seven days a week. Typical hours of operation are 9:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., subject to change based on seasonality and consumer demand.

· Mornings, nights, weekends, and some holidays

· On Call, Overtime as needed

· This current position requires weekends and evenings

Pay: $18.50 - $20.50 per hour
