What are the responsibilities and job description for the Spa Director position at The Martha Washington Inn & Spa?
The Spa Director at The Spa at The Martha is responsible for:
- Scheduling staff members to ensure that services are provided when they are most in demand
- Communicating with staff members, therapists, and clients to ensure that all parties understand policies and procedures
- Training new staff members on company policies and procedures and/or finding contractors to perform various job duties required in The Spa
- Evaluating the quality of services provided by employees and offering feedback to help them improve their performance
- Establishing and enforcing policies regarding dress codes, client behavior, employee conduct, cleaning procedures, etc.
- Ensuring that the physical environment is clean and well maintained so that clients receive high quality services in a relaxing setting (this includes the recreation areas outside of The Spa)
- Overseeing the financial performance of the business by maintaining accurate records of income and expenses
- Maintaining relationships with vendors, suppliers, and other outside contacts to ensure that the spa has access to high quality products and services
- Hiring/Firing employees
- Recruiting LMTs, Estheticians, Cosmetologists, etc.
- Create content and manage Spa social media accounts
- Other Details:
-Overseeing day to day operations of business for a cross functional team including scheduling and job task/performance for each position.
-Establish department standards, guidelines, and objectives; maintains other administrative processes such as budgeting and staffing to ensure proper planning and efficient operations of all areas for business demands.
-Implementing technological innovations in collaboration with other senior leadership including understanding all facets of current spa software and its functionality (Book4Time).
-Implementing data-driven decision-making processes to drive continuous improvement in overall financial performance.
-Create, manage, and execute a business plan and communicate company vision and objectives to motivate the team towards the same goals.
-Coordinate new business connections and revenue generation opportunities by improving networking strategies and strengthening vendor relationships.
-Navigate complex regulatory environments to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and industry standards, mitigating potential legal risks.
-Improve brand awareness by monitoring marketing campaigns via social media outlets and fostering membership acquisitions and business development.
-Identify market product demands and customer trends to bring in new customers and retain existing ones for sustainable profits.
Tuesday-Saturday 8AM - 5PM, some Sunday/Mondays
