The Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Prince George’s County Department of Parks and Recreation, Natural and Historical Resources Division, is seeking a part-time year-round Outreach Program Administrative Aide II to fill a vacancy at the Marietta House Museum in Glenn Dale, MD. Marietta House, built circa 1813, is the former home of Supreme Court Justice, Gabriel Duvall. Through a social justice educational lens, the museum explores the history of generations of the Duvall family and the free and enslaved families who lived and labored at Marietta. The museum provides guided tours, exhibits, and public programs on and off site.
This position requires previous tour guide experience, experience working with children, excellent verbal and written communications skills, and social media content development experience. Interest in working with the public is necessary. The Outreach Program Administration Aide greets visitors and hosts museum entrance front desk; provides excellent customer service; generates social media content; collects payments for tours, programs, reservations, and donations. That person maintains on-site and off-site brochure displays and marketing materials; helps maintain the research library; assists volunteer coordinator and educator train tour guides as part of the monthly tour guide meeting program; assists at on-site and off-site public programs and school events; assists the Program Coordinator in compiling visitor data for various reports; may work evenings or weekends; other duties as assigned.

Lead guided tours weekdays and occasional weekends
Assist at on-site and off-site public programs and school events
Generate social media content
Host museum front desk, greet visitors, maintain museum lobby
Maintain on-site and off-site brochure displays and marketing materials
Assist director maintain the research library
Assist Volunteer Coordinator and Educator train tour guides at monthly tour guide meetings
Assist the Program Coordinator compile visitor data for various reports
Assist staff set up and take down public programs
Other duties as assigned
Be at least 21 years old.
At minimum a high School diploma, prefer college degree
Interest in American history
One year of related museum experience
Valid driver’s license
Work schedule 20 hours per week. This part time position will pay at a rate of $16.25-22.10. Work hours include weekdays, evenings, and weekends
