Job Description

Established ISO 9001 : 2015 & IATF 16949 : 2016 certified supplier of washers and stamping is seeking a Metal Stamping Engineer . This position focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing metal stamping processes to meet production goals. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with metal stamping equipment, a strong understanding of tool and die design, and a background in improving manufacturing processes.

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
Years of experience in metal stamping engineering, with a strong focus on tooling and process development.
Proficient in CAD software (e.g., AutoCad, SolidWorks) and experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) for tooling design.
Strong knowledge of tool and die design, fabrication, and maintenance.
Hands-on experience with metal stamping machines, presses, and tooling.
Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma Methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex production issues.
Strong communication and project management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Essential Duties and responsibilities :

Directly supervise one employee in the Engineering Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Design and develop metal stamping tools and processes for new and existing products.

If candidate is not a die designer, candidate will be responsible for recruiting qualified outside tool design firms and forming working relationships with them.

Fully understand current cost system and optimize system with continuous improvement.

Have an understanding of the Quality Management System (ISO 9001 : 2015 & IATF 16949 : 2016), quality policy and objectives.

Will be required to advise customers when needed either via phone, email or in person.

Troubleshoot tooling designs and work closely with tool and die makers to ensure precision and quality.

Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective actions.

Coordinate with production teams to ensure that equipment is operating at maximum capacity and efficiency.

Create and maintain process documentation, including engineering drawings and specifications.

Evaluate and implement new technologies and automation to improve the stamping process.

Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards during production.

Collaborate and cooperate with cross-functional teams (e.g., design, quality, and production) to ensure product and process alignment.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, downtime and cost in the stamping process.

The company pays a competitive wage ($33.76-39.65 pr. hr., Salary-Exempt) based on experience and knowledge.

Qualified candidates are required to pass physical and background screening to be considered for this position.
