We are seeking a Certified Dietary Manager (Restaurant Manager) responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurants in The Mather's Life Centre. Their duties include hiring and training restaurant team members, following company policies, speaking with residents and guests to address concerns or solve problems and creating schedules for restaurant team members. The Restaurant Manager is a Certified Dietary Manager, and is familiar with IDDSI practices and has the ability to recognize dietary requirements. This position reports directly to the Director of F&B with a dotted line to the Healthcare Administrator.
This position is full-time, salaried, and located on-site at The Mather in Evanston, IL. Weekend, and holiday availability required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Collaborates with Director of F&B in the timely hiring, orientation, scheduling and on-going training and performance management of restaurant team members.
- Manages all related systems within the restaurants.
- Supervises the flow of service to ensure that residents, guests, family members, and staff receive quality dining service.
- Inspects workstations for completion of assigned side work.
- Responds to resident feedback addressing concerns in a timely, professional manner.
- Maintains timely and professional communication with the Director of F&B and the Executive Chef and shares all food comments and suggestions with the Executive Chef.
- Works with restaurant management to help ensure budgetary compliance.
- Responsible to manage and maintain the equipment necessary to successfully operate the restaurants at or above Mather service standards.
- Coordinates and executes theme meals and/or functions and related billing processes and provides accurate and timely information to the Director of F&B so that billing for events/functions can occur and resident satisfaction is ensured.
- Oversees dietary restrictions, follows IDDSI practices.
- Performs training to team members on IDDSI and dietary needs.
- Oversees new admissions through completing a baseline care plan, culinary interview, and nutritional assessment.
- Oversees permanent residents through quarterly and annual culinary interviews, nutritional notes, and updated care plans.
- Attends Care Conferences.
- Provides nutrition interventions.
- Completes Monthly and Quarterly QAPI Reports.
- Creates modified, specialty and non-select menus.
- Works closely with Culinary team to develop nutritional information and menus for the Life Centre.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Progressive experience in an upscale restaurant and/or Life Plan community
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and make independent decisions
- CDM Certified
- Proficient in Windows applications including Excel, Word and Outlook
- Knowledgeable in Point-of-Sale systems
- Knowledgeable in job related federal, state, and local regulations to ensure safe and clean dining environment
- Certification in food safety/sanitation and BASSET
- English language proficiency
