Key Responsibilities
Shipping & Receiving Operations
- Receive, inspect, and document all incoming shipments.
- Verify contents against purchase orders and packing slips for accuracy.
- Coordinate and prepare outgoing shipments, ensuring proper packaging and labeling.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments and receipts using inventory or procurement software.
- Organize and store items in designated storage areas following safety and cleanliness standards.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and report discrepancies to the purchasing team.
- Tag and track items with appropriate labeling for internal distribution.
- Notify appropriate departments (kitchen, housekeeping, maintenance, etc.) of received goods.
- Coordinate delivery of items to various departments within the hotel in a timely manner.
- Liaise with vendors, couriers, and delivery personnel professionally and efficiently.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies and procedures as well as local laws related to storage and shipping.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing, or hospitality preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic math and computer skills (Excel, inventory management software).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate hand trucks or pallet jacks.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Primarily in back-of-house, warehouse, or receiving dock areas.
- May involve long periods of standing and manual labor.
- Requires flexibility in scheduling, including weekends or holidays, depending on hotel needs.
