POSITION SUMMARY
The Metrix Company, a leading manufacturer of single use medical devices, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team. The person in this position is responsible for developing and executing strategies to increase sales and expand market presence. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, cultivating relationships, distribution channels, and maintaining a deep understanding of the market, competitors, and customer needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop a strong understanding of the company's products/services and target market to create effective sales strategies domestically. Sells products through customer visits, traveling to customer locations, and attending trade shows. Corresponds and communicates with distributors.
- Works with the Business Development Representative in establishing goals that align with the company’s strategic direction.
- Provides answers regarding technical questions to customers.
- Prospect, qualify, and close new business opportunities, follows up on customer leads.
- Responsible for pricing new products and maintaining margins on existing products.
- Works closely with customers, marketing, sales, product development, and customer service teams on new product development.
- Evaluates distributor performance to ensure optimal representation. Monitor and report on trends, opportunities, and potential risks in the industry, as well as report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years business development, sales experience required in the medical device field, proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration or related field; MBA preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Must possess the ability to influence others, organize workflow and provide follow-up in a timely manner, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills required.
- Lifts, carries, or moves objects up to 40 pounds.
