What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Public Affairs Specialist position at The Midtown Group?
One of our local government clients is looking for a creative public affairs specialist to join their office for at least a year to assist with a wide range of communications duties. This individual will be responsible for creating physical as well as digital collateral and presentations addressed to local residents to increase awareness of this agencies efforts in the community. This role would be onsite and the ideal candidate would have previous experience with government clients.
Duties :
- Manage the communications editorial calendar to coordinate internal and external activities.
- Utilize software and tools supporting communication efforts, including WebEx, Smartsheet, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and the office website.
- Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, presentations, and other documents as required.
- Organize and maintain official records, documents, and files in electronic and physical formats.
- Capture photographs, videos, and audio for publication on online and digital media, including social platforms.
- Develop and review press releases, fact sheets, features, and background statements.
- Post position opportunities periodically as requested by Human Resources.
- Create collateral materials, such as flyers and event programs, using Canva or similar software.
- Assist in preparing speeches, press releases, and public statements, maintaining consistency with communication guidelines.
