Job Description
The Scheduler is responsible for managing the schedule for creative resources within the Mill New York studio. They must work in collaboration with our in-house Producers to champion the welfare and career development of The Mill’s most important asset: people.
The Scheduler must have an in-depth understanding of The Mill’s services. Their key responsibility is to work closely with the Producers in order to maximize the resources of the company and ensuring that the job is scheduled in a timely manner and with enough time to effectively complete all work.
Main Responsibilities
The pay for this full-time position is: 21$ - 25$/hour, which is a good-faith assessment associated with this position only and pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law.

Job Description

The Scheduler must have an in-depth understanding of The Mill’s services. Their key responsibility is to work closely with the Producers in order to maximize the resources of the company and ensuring that the job is scheduled in a timely manner and with enough time to effectively complete all work.
Main Responsibilities
- Managing the Creative teams by scheduling resources in line with the needs of the Producer and Client. This includes liaising with Producers, analyzing the brief of the project and carefully allocating resources appropriately.
- Maximizing revenue by scheduling work between the disciplines and suites efficiently.
- Knowledge of the technical capabilities of (2D/3D/CT/Design) to effectively schedule work projects and advise clients and producers of any new working methods.
- Proactive in ensuring all work on the schedule is confirmed, allowing old bookings to fall away and new business to be scheduled appropriately.
- Ensure quotes have enough time booked using your knowledge of 2D/3D/CT/Design to ensure realistic timing estimates.
- Resolving conflicting requests by understanding priorities based on business strategy and artist welfare. Highlighting if a clash of schedules arises and working with colleagues and producers to find a successful solution while maximizing revenue.
- Using CETA, the company’s project management tool, to maximize the work flow of the scheduling department.
- Creating and updating worksheets to allow the jobs to be tracked and artists to know where and what they will be doing on a daily basis.
- Identifying any issues which may affect work flow and or hinder the effective allocation of resources for that day and find ways to resolve them.
- A responsibility to report and monitor extreme working hours of artists and to allocate appropriate rest time or days in lieu.
- Efficient administration of systems in departments.
- Artist staff welfare well monitored and managed. Ensuring staff retention.
- Client satisfaction and retention.
- Producers are fully supported on the day-to-day scheduling needs of their projects
- Experience in managing demanding schedules in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly developed knowledge of the production, visual effects and advertising industries.
- Highly developed knowledge of the software and hardware used in every aspect of the VFX post-production process.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Able to act calmly under pressure.
