What are the responsibilities and job description for the Police Officer position at The Mohegan Tribe of Indians Of Connecticut?
Summary of Position:
Incumbent protects the lives, peace and property rights of citizens. Guards public safety and enforces all laws and ordinances under the jurisdiction of the Police Department.
Minimum Requirements:
- Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and use sound judgment before taking action
- Good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to operate the following equipment: Firearms, cameras, radios, telephones, handcuffs, computers, baton, flares, radar and breathalyzer
- Ability to walk/run moderate distances in pursuit, climb stairs and ladders, jump and dodge obstacles, lift, carry and drag heavy objects and people, bend and reach, use force of moderate duration, use restraining devices and control holds
- Ability to travel for training purposes
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Police Officer with two (2) years of experience in a police department
- Current CT P.O.S.T. Certification or equivalent
- Meet CT P.O.S.T hiring standards, including medical and polygraph
- No felony convictions or misdemeanors involving moral turpitude or issues of integrity.
- Valid Operator’s License from state of residence
