What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Assistant Counselor, Rec & Comm. Services (Seasonal) position at The Mohegan Tribe of Indians Of Connecticut?
Summary of Job Description:
Incumbent in this position facilitates all events and activities developed for Tribal community participants of the seasonal recreation programs; provides safe and timely care to the children, especially those with diverse or special needs.
Minimum Requirements:
- Strong demonstrated interpersonal, leadership and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated understanding of group dynamics and conflict resolution
- Working knowledge of behavior management techniques and restraint training programs such as Physical/Psychological Management Training (PMT) or similar
- High School Diploma or equivalent
~AND~
- Higher education in the field of childhood education (or similar field of study) or one (1) year of experience as a special education paraprofessional in a public and/or private school setting
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification required (training provided)
- Training in behavior management and restraint training (will provide)
- Successful candidate must pass the background check and continue to be eligible for employment in accordance with The Mohegan Tribe’s Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Policy
- Must be at least 18 years’ old
