About the MOMENTUM Residency
The MOMENTUM Residency is a transformative two-year cohort-based program designed to empower school-based mental health clinicians to create meaningful, sustainable impact in their school communities. Through a combination of professional development, mentorship, and hands-on experience, MOMENTUM Residents are equipped to address the unique mental health needs of students, families, and educators.
Position Overview
As a MOMENTUM Resident, you will work within a partner school or community-based organization (CBO) in Washington, D.C., providing direct mental health support to K12 students while engaging in professional learning and collaboration with a cohort of like-minded clinicians.
This program is an excellent opportunity for early-career mental health professionals who are passionate about educational equity, student well-being, and community impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, culturally responsive mental health services to students and families in a K-12 DC public school.
- Collaborate with school staff, administrators, and community partners to support student well-being.
- Participate in ongoing professional development workshops, clinical supervision, networking events, and cohort-based learning and wellness opportunities.
- Implement evidence-based interventions to address individual and systemic challenges within school communities.
- Examine and apply culturally informed practices
Who Should Apply
We’re seeking candidates who are:
- Graduating with or have completed a Master of Social Work (MSW) or Master’s in Psychology or Counseling by May 2025.
- Passionate about working in school-based mental health and committed to advancing equity in education.
- Eager to collaborate with peers, school leaders, and families to create lasting change.
- Interested in building their clinical skills in a supportive, structured environment.
