Purpose:
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for the work activities of
the cleaning personnel to ensure clean, orderly, and attractive rooms and
common areas. Assign duties, inspect
work, and investigate complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment
and takes corrective action. May purchase housekeeping supplies and equipment,
take periodic inventories, screen applicants, train new team members. Keep the
Community clean and safe for residents, families, team members, and visitors.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for preparing housekeeping schedules.
- Directs and manages the work of the housekeeping associates.
- Inspects the cleaning of resident units and common areas.
- Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment and takes corrective action.
- Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies.
- Conducts orientation training and in-service training to explain policies, work procedures, and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment.
- Records data regarding work assignments, personnel actions, and timecards, and prepares periodic reports as requested.
- Screens job applicants, hires new team members, and recommends promotions, transfers, and dismissals.
- Cleans Resident units as necessary.
- Washes Resident’s personal laundry, if assigned.
- Clean all common areas as necessary, including but not limited to: halls, landings, stairs, activity areas, lobbies, elevators, and model units.
- Cleans vacant units as necessary.
- Ensures cleanliness of public restrooms.
- Maintains housekeeping and laundry carts at all times.
- Supervises washing and drying of all Community laundry, using appropriate products.
- Arrives on time and in appropriate work attire.
- Follow all emergency procedures including when chemicals are accidently misused.
- Understands the practices surrounding proper handling of biohazardous waste.
- Maintains a clean laundry room and stores chemicals in accordance with proper procedures.
- Reports on-the-job injuries to the Plant Operations Director before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs.
- Communicates effectively with Plant Operations Director and other team members.
- Advises Plant Operations Director when supplies are in need of reorder.
