Position Overview:
Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless, Inc. seeks a Development Coordinator to advance our mission to make homelessness rare, brief and non-recurring in our community. This position plays a pivotal role in supporting the organization’s fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This individual is responsible for managing the database and supporting software, facilitating donor communication, coordinating the shelter meal program, and assisting with event logistics. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and has excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Please note that this is a hybrid role that will require onsite presence in the Rockville, Maryland office.
Key Responsibilities:
Database & Classy Software Management
• Maintain and update the organization’s donor database and Classy software.
• Ensure accuracy and consistency of donor records.
• Generate reports and provide insights for fundraising and engagement strategies.
Financial Donations
• Accurately record all financial donations in the donor database.
• Prepare and send timely acknowledgment letters and receipts to donors.
• Collaborate with the finance team to ensure reconciliation of donations.
Meal Program Coordination
• Oversee the meal program calendar and manage the program inbox.
• Coordinate with the onsite shelter team to ensure smooth operations.
• Address inquiries and support next steps toward donation.
Monthly Donor Pathway Management
• Send personalized acknowledgment letters to monthly donors.
• Create and distribute yearly impact letters highlighting achievements and impact.
• Extend special invitations to select donor engagement events.
New Donor Pathway Development
• Initiate the new donor pathway for all first-time donors.
• Provide follow-up information and opportunities for deeper engagement.
Event Support
• Manage event registration, including maintaining attendee lists.
• Handle pre-event and post-event communications with participants and stakeholders.
• Support event logistics, including setup, execution, and follow-up tasks
Requirements
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, or a related field.
• Proficiency in donor management software (e.g., Classy) and databases.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Experience in event planning and donor relations is a plus.

Work Environment:
This position is a hybrid role that includes 2 onsite days weekly. It also includes occasional evening and weekend work during events. The Development Coordinator will work closely with the development team and report to the Director of Development & Community Partnerships.
Salary : $53,000
